The programme changes slightly each year, but below you’ll find a selection of activities we got up to in 2019…
Everyone gathers at Hoylake to be taken by coach to Quinta Conference Centre, near Oswestry.
When everyone is settled in, we go through some introductions and then have our first “Main Meeting” – filled with loads of games, songs, activities and a Bible time.
After tea, we went into the woods for fun with Low Ropes and the amazing Blindfolded Nightline!
On Tuesday, we had loads more games and Bible time in the morning. We made a city of Nineveh, a ship, and even a whale – and then we walked through the amazing story of Jonah!
After lunch we hit the water slide and then had fun with water games in the wonderful indoor heated swimming pool.
In the evening we all got together in the hall for Human Hungry Hippos!
Our Wednesday morning time had yet more amazing games and activities, and the Bible story of David & Goliath.
We then went offsite for the afternoon, ice-skating in Deeside.
After tea we had a pile of games as part of our Aladdin-themed evening, and the senior campers ended up back in the pool later for a night swim!
Yet more fun and games this morning, followed by a look at how the earlier Bible stories actually all pointed forward to Jesus.
Jesus replaces the Tabernacle by being priest and sacrifice who represents us before God; he’s like Jonah in that he died for 3 days and rose again to bring good news to everyone; and he’s like David, triumphing over the Goliaths we face in our lives.
After lunch, we had games on the field, including frisbee golf:
We had all sorts of water games on the field, and it inevitably ended up in the mother of all water fights!
We rounded off our last evening together with a camp fire, BBQ, and songs.
On Friday we pack up, load up the bus, and set off to West Midlands Safari Park for the day. We arrive back at Bromborough and Hoylake some time around 8:00-8:30 on Friday evening.
